【摘要】:Thistestmethodfortestingcottonfornon-lintcontentisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentssinceitisthebestavailableprocedureforobtainingobjectivedata.5.1.1Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestsshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,ensurethetestsamplestobeusedareashomogeneousaspossible,aredrawnfromthematerialfromwhichthedisparatetestresultswereobtained,andarerandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Thetestresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,ataprobabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfuturetestresultsforthatmaterialmustbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.Thistestmethodgivesdataonthenon-lintcontentofrawcottonwhichcanbeusedasabasisfor:(1)estimatingthenetamountofmanufacturedtextileproductobtainablefromrawcotton;(2)predictingthequalityofcottontextileproducts,particularlytheiraestheticproperties;(3)assemblingandblendingbalesinamixonanon-lintcontentbasis;(4)adjustingginningandtextileprocessingmachinesformaximumefficiencyincleaninglint;and(5)relatingnon-lintcontentofcottontoend-productqualityandprocessingefficiency.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthenon-lintcontentofcottonusingtheShirleyAnalyzer.Thecottonmaybeintheformof(1)rawstock,thatis,cottonfiberthathasbeenseparatedfromtheseedbyginning;(2)partiallyprocessedcotton,suchaspickerlaporsliver;or(3)ginningorprocessingwaste,suchasobtainedfromginning,openingandcleaning,picking,carding,orcombingmachines.1.2Thistestmethodisespeciallyadaptedfordeterminingnon-lintcontentofcottonbyuseoftheShirleyAnalyser.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
